How We Work Together
Seeking Couples Therapy often reflects a shared commitment to understanding and strengthening your relationship. Regardless of the circumstances that bring you to counseling, my approach focuses on helping both partners improve communication, deepen connection, and work toward meaningful goals together.
I provide Couples Therapy for a wide range of relationship concerns, from communication difficulties and recurring conflict to more complex challenges, including trust concerns, emotional distance, infidelity, and major life transitions. I also work with couples preparing for marriage through premarital counseling, as well as partners seeking support for ongoing relationship and marital concerns.
A central goal of Couples Therapy is helping each person better understand both their partner and themselves. Together, we explore the patterns that shape the relationship, including communication styles, emotional responses, personal experiences, and family dynamics. Often, these influences affect how partners relate to one another without either person fully realizing it.
Through Couples Therapy, couples can develop greater awareness, strengthen communication, build deeper understanding, and create new opportunities for connection and growth within their relationship.
What This Leads To
Discussion in session is paced so that each person’s perspective can be expressed and considered, helping to support clearer communication and reduce reactivity.
Each session is guided by what is emotionally emerging within the relationship, while maintaining a consistent focus on the established goal. The techniques, tools, and approaches used are intended to support the couple towards movement in the same direction.
I offer couples therapy both in person (Stamford, Connecticut) and virtual (Connecticut and New Hampshire). Whether you prefer online or in person couples therapy will improve your relationship. Choose whatever option works for you.
